Temperzone PAC Replacement and New Control Panel
We started by planning the changeover around live equipment. You cannot just pull gear out and hope for the best in an exchange.
We supplied and installed new Temperzone PAC units sized for the room and load, then built a dedicated control panel in house to suit Telstra requirements. Inside the panel, everything is where it should be: neat wiring, labelled terminals and clear segregation so anyone who opens it later can follow the story in a few seconds. The plant area is now clean, organised and set up for long term service instead of short term fixes.
RDM Controls, Alarm Monitoring and Remote Access
For controls, we went with an RDM (Resource Data Management) solution.
We set up RDM to run the Temperzone units, handle key alarms and report back through AI remote so the right people can see what is going on without standing in the room. Instead of a basic on and off arrangement, Telstra now has proper visibility. If something drifts, the system lets you know.
Live Upgrade with No Downtime
The rule on this job was clear. Do not take Telstra offline.
We staged the work so there was always cooling available. New gear was installed, tested and proven before we touched the old system. Each step was checked under load before we moved on to the next. From Telstra’s side, nothing unexpected happened, which is exactly how it should be.
Client Response
Telstra got what they were after. The exchange stayed online the whole way through, the new Temperzone PACs and control panel are running steady, and the monitoring is doing its job. Feedback from site was simple and to the point. Tidy install, clear labelling and no issues during or after the changeover.
