Gourmania Chef Bayswater Facility Development 

Scope of Work

Gourmania Chef, a producer of bulk, ready-to-eat meals, embarked on an expansion requiring the construction of a custom-designed facility. MECS Electrical & Controls was involved from the project’s inception, assisting with the design and implementation of the refrigeration control system and managing the mechanical electrical aspects of the office fit-out.

Project Details

The new facility was designed to include cool rooms, freezer rooms, and a plate freezer, necessitating a robust and efficient refrigeration system. The refrigeration setup comprised three racks, each equipped with three compressors, to ensure optimal performance and redundancy. A Danfoss monitoring system was installed to oversee all plant operations, providing remote access capabilities for both the refrigeration company and the facility owner, thereby enabling real-time monitoring and control from any location

 

Execution Strategy: 

Design and Planning: 
Collaborated closely with Gourmania Chef to understand their specific requirements for the new facility. Developed detailed designs for the refrigeration control system and the mechanical electrical layout of the office spaces, ensuring alignment with operational needs and compliance with industry standards. 

 

Refrigeration System Implementation: 

Equipment Installation: Installed three refrigeration racks, each containing three compressors, to manage the cooling demands of the facility’s storage areas. 

Control System Integration: Implemented the Danfoss monitoring system to provide comprehensive oversight of the refrigeration plant, facilitating efficient management and maintenance. 

 

Mechanical Electrical Fit-Out: 

Office Areas: Executed the mechanical electrical installation for the office spaces, including power distribution, lighting, and climate control systems, to create a functional and comfortable working environment. 

 

Testing and Commissioning: 

System Validation: Conducted thorough testing of all installed systems to verify performance, reliability, and adherence to design specifications. 

Commissioning: Brought the systems into operational status, ensuring seamless integration and functionality across the facility. 

 

Training and Handover: 

Staff Training: Provided comprehensive training to Gourmania Chef’s personnel on the operation and maintenance of the new systems, emphasizing safety protocols and efficient practices. 

Documentation: Supplied detailed manuals and documentation to support ongoing operations and facilitate future maintenance activities.
