We designed, manufactured, and installed the orange mechanical services switchboards ourselves. One of the main boards features a front-mounted HMI touchscreen. This panel acts as the central hub where all primary power circuits converge. Getting the internal layout right was a big priority for us. We laid out the wiring so the board is clear and logical for the next technician. Keeping it tidy makes long-term maintenance much easier for everyone.
Inside the main facilities, we paired AC wall controllers with smart CO2 sensors. Placing these units side by side created simple adjustment points across the site. These sensors track changing occupancy levels and adjust the indoor climate automatically. They use a clear RGB light system to indicate current air quality. The light shows blue for good conditions, green for economy mode, and red for high carbon dioxide levels.
The workshop required a different approach due to the type of heavy work happening there. We fitted dedicated carbon monoxide monitoring equipment throughout the space to track fumes. We also set up a night purge sequence to clear out stale air after hours. This setup maintains a safe breathing environment for the morning shift.
Reaching Greenstar design requirements meant the setup had to be highly responsive. Standard fixed-rate ventilation would burn too much power and miss the mark entirely. By integrating the colour-coded CO2 sensors, we gave the plant the ability to scale back. The fans only ramp up when the room actually fills up with people. This responsive design keeps energy consumption low without sacrificing comfort.
We had a mix of outdoor condensers, indoor sensors, and workshop purge fans to unify. Running separate, isolated systems for all these plants creates massive headaches for facility managers. We brought every piece of equipment back to the main MSSB touchscreens. Giving the client a single interface means they can check the whole site at a glance.
We left the Weir Minerals site with all plant equipment running smoothly and predictably. The client now has a straightforward, easily readable setup that handles complex air quality demands automatically. Everything is clearly labelled and left well organised for whoever needs to service it next.
